A 17th century English backsword,

A 17th century English backsword, with 34 inch straight double fullered blade, full basket hilt, wirebound fish skin covered grip

The blade is pitted and has some light surface rust, there are a number of nicks out of the edge of the blade and large piece towards the last third, blade has been stamped number 5 where the hilt meets the blade, the guard has some active red rest, no obvious breaks of faults, the wirebound fish skin grip is worn and cracked in several places.
