Oil on canvas relined 10 - 20 years ago or so, canvas remains tight, paint looks a little dirty with a fine but stable craquelure running through the hair and flesh tones, also in the blue but less notably in the green, signs of one or two small retouches particularly in the green to the left of his cravat, no sign of any signature, framed in a later parcel gilt walnut frame.
