Oil on canvas which has been relined many years ago. Canvas remains tight. Paint is very dirty with a fine but stable craquleure throughout.
Painted to the oval at the bottom (but not the top so probably cut down).
Details of the sitter at the top. No relevant labels or inscriptions verso.
Old rather tired gilt frame.
Comes for sale from a private collector who bought it at auction ten to twenty years ago.
