Oil on original canvas in good untouched condition, looks like the painting has never been touched in any way and would now benefit from a light clean but no other faults noted, old pin holes showing in the corners, and a trace of pencil to the lower right unpainted section, housed in the original giltwood frame which is now a little tatty and bears an exhibition number 66, various labels verso, two typed, one stating property of George Behrend of Jersey, another stating this picture belongs to Alwyn Brooks Jones, signed by Mary Behrend in 1946 and more importantly an Arts Council of Great Britain Exhibition label equally given the title with the owner as a Behrend, one of the typed labels says that this is a portrait of Juley Behrend (Mrs Brook-Jones and is a detail for a larger family group that he painted), further auctioneers chalk on the back of the work relating to an old sale.
