Condition:
Oil on canvas relined within the past 10 years, canvas remains tight, paint looks a little dirty and would benefit from a clean. Slight stretchmarks showing down the sides. A little fine craquelure running through the main body of the work particularly in the hillside beneath the castle. Signed and dated to the left of 6 o’clock partially obscured by the frame. Original gilt gesso frame now rather dirty and with a few cracks, artist title label remnant verso along with framer label for Hugh Paton.
