A Chinese brocade 'dragon' panel fragment 17th/18th century, decorated with a dragon above mountains and crashing waves, on a pale gilt ground, 80cm x 99cm including later border, professional repairs

There are small patches of silk threads which are freying slightly such as on the central dragons head, the cloud and dragon at the bottom left and the cloud upper left, where some of the threads have worn and freyed slightly some stabilising threads of matching colour have been sewn in position, the panel is obviously a fragment of something larger which has been cut down in size and has only light areas of staining and has a later backing and blue cloth border, otherwise in reasonable condition.
