Provenance - the vendor's mother was a freelance professional classical violinist who performed with the Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra.

There is a split to the right hand F hole on the top plate, there is wear around the edges and to the varnish consistent with age and use, there appears to be a glued repair to the edge of the right upper bout on the top plate and the top plate has also opened up a gap slightly to the join of the rib on this area, as one expects there is some wear to the varnish on the neck and the scroll, some general scratching to the back and front of the violin and some marking to the top plate where there is wear where the bridge is in position.
