A pair of Louis XVI style ormolu mounted satinwood gueridons, both with rising lids, one fitted as a tea caddy, the other a jewellery table, inset with porcelain plaques painted with lovers, on cabriole legs with understages, W.1ft 2in. D. 9in. H.2ft 3.5in.

Tables are slightly differing in in veneers with the blue plaque example having dark rosewood banding and a light satinwood colour elsewhere, the other with rosewood banding but a darker finish to the lighter timber, blue plaque example - ormolu mounts show a fair amount of wear to the raised extremities due to polishing over the years, some very fine cracks running through the rosewood banding to the top along with old small dirt marks and scuffs, lid opens to reveal two tea caddies and a vacant compartment in the middle, lock working with key present, some slight rubbing to the gilding around the painted panel of the porcelain plaque, otherwise light wear and scuffing to the veneers throughout the piece but nothing of anything severe nature, a matching plaque to the back of the piece.
The other table corresponds in design but as mentioned is of a darker colour, lid opens to reveal a vacant compartment, key present and lock working, gilding around the cartouche all looks to be original and complete in both panels, overall this one is in slightly better condition than the other.
