A George III mahogany and yew wood table cabinet, the top and sides inlaid with oval panels within harebells, with single glazed door enclosing two banks of seven graduated drawers over an inlaid plinth foot, W.1ft 11in. D.1ft 3in. H.2ft 3in.
Estimate £600-900

Overall of good rich colour, the left and right sides are mid brown tone, the top showing slight rubbing a little lighter, the front door again a little rubbed around the edges, the back of the cabinet is veneered in plain dark yew wood, top shows some damage to the parquetry banding with one section broken away near the front right corner, most of the missing pieces are retained inside the top drawer, front door drops slightly when opened, glass is certainly old and it is hard to see what else would have been there, there does not seem to be room for a panel but perhaps a thin fabric panel may have been there instead of glass, internally some slight separation and movement of the drawer dividers, all of the drawers have later purple velvet lining, lock looks original, escutcheon is loose and the key looks later, both sides with some small cracking and other dented marks, ebonised moulded base has light scuffing and scratching, as do the bun feet, but overall looks to be in good original condition.
