A pair of Chinese faux wood famille rose vases, hu, Qianlong mark, Republic period, each finely painted with magpies perched amid flowering prunus and a fruiting peach tree and lingzhi, chilong shaped handles, H. 15.5cm

Provenance - The present owner lived and worked in Hong Kong in the late 1960s and purchased this pair of vases from an antique dealer in Hong Kong on 12 February 1968. The vases come with an original certificate, c.1968 from The Curios Furniture & Miscellaneous Utensils & Hardware Merchants, No. 13 Upper Lascar Row, Hong Kong.

Both vases have some wear to the gilding on the top and foot rims, occasional minor scratches to the glaze and both have some brown residue to the biscuit on the foot which will remove, otherwise in good condition with no chips cracks or restoration.
