A large Chinese Ming blue and white 'lotus' bowl, late 15th / early 16th century, the interior and exterior painted with a repeating design of lotus flowers and scrolling tendrils, the interior with foliage to the centre and the exterior with panels of scrolls and foliage to the border, width 36cm

The underglaze blue decoration is blurry and running in places particularly to the interior, the interior of the bowl in the centre has some pitting and wear to the glaze, the exterior of the bowl is extremely blurry with some running to the underglaze blue decoration and the foot has a firing crack running around the inside of the foot which is then visible traversing across the outside of the foot but it appears to be stable, there is some other wear on the edge of the rim and to the exterior consistent with something that is over 400 years old.
