After Jean-Francois Theodore Gechter (1796-1844). A 19th century French animalier bronze model of a tethered horse, wearing tasselled blinkers and an elaborate yoke, on rouge marble plinth, height 16.5in. length 16.5in.
The bronze is very dusty and dirty, there appears to be some slight surface scratches to the some of the extremities but overall this is good condition, would benefit from a clean. Overall has a dark brown patina wearing through on the extremities to a pale golden brown, there are some small areas where the finish has been worn and is a little patchy, the base is later and is not actually attached to the bronze.
