A rare 17th/18th century left handed spur toed golf club, the hand forged iron head with dished face set on an ash shaft, length 42.5in.

Provenance: Purchased by the owner's grandfather in the 1950's for 10 shillings and purportedly purchased by the previous owner from a cellar clearance in Leven, Fife.

The head of the club is pitted with very little polish and some active light rust, the shaft has been stained with creosote by the owners father in order to kill off the worm that is evident at the top of the shaft, there are a number of old iron nails which would have held bindings.
There is feint depression to one side of the hosel
The hosel is 13cm
The diameter of the hosel at its widest point 2cm
