Condition:
Both in somewhat neglected condition, oils on canvas laid down onto board backings. He rather dirty with a little fine but stable craquelure, signed lower left. She in less good condition with bitumous bubbling showing in the black paint and a broad craquelure in the white further craquelure elsewhere, apparently unsigned. Both with the original Watts frames, now rather dried out, her frame with numerous small losses, Chapman Bros labels verso. Comes with old black-and-white photographs of the works giving details of the sitters and stating that the Spire of Hampstead Parish church is seen in the background.
