Lot 114 , A Japanese ivory okimono of Handaka Sonja, Meiji period, signed Shozan, 22.5 cm high, wood stand
A Japanese ivory okimono of Handaka Sonja, Meiji period, signed Shozan,
the rakan with summoning a dragon above him, whilst holding a sceptre over an incense burner, incised two character signature,
22.5 cm high, wood stand
There is a hairline age crack to his right ankle, slight yellowing to the Ivory in places. The top claw of the Dragon is a sectional piece with a join around the ankle with evidence of glue around the area although we believe this is where the piece was just loose and not a replacement or a break.
