[Sandwich Charity] - Manuscript Account Book of the Peter Jarns Charity for the Poor, covering the years 1823-1904. 150pp., old vellum with ms. titile upper board, 8vo. * by his will (proved 1715) Peter Jarvis, merchant of Leghorn (and Sandwich native), left a third part of the revenues of a farm and land at Marshborough (Woodnesborough, near Sandwich) for the poor of the three Sandwich parishes (St. Clement, St. Peter and St. Mary); see Wm Boys - Collections for an History of Sandwich (Canterbury, 1792).
