A fine Victorian gold, pearl and diamond necklace, circa 1870-80, the collar composed of bevelled square links with scrolled borders, set with split pearls, to a concealed clasp, the centre suspending a detachable oval locket of chequerboard design with rope twist details, set with split pearls and cushion-shaped diamonds totalling approximately 0.70 carats, opening to reveal two glazed compartments, mounted in gold, locket length 5.9cm including bail, necklace length 41cm, each stamped 18, combined gross weight approximately 100 grams; together with a later pair of earrings, length 1.6cm each, post fittings, combined gross weight approximately 3 grams, later case stamped Mappin & Webb, facsimile of a valuation by Mappin & Webb, pearls untested
