An English porcelain sparrow-beak cream jug, circa 1750-60,
possibly outside painted Bow porcelain, with sparrow beak spout, the bellied jug with pincered hoop handle, circular foot, the body painted in enamels with insects and foliate sprigs, 10.5cm high

Provenance: Formerly with Winifred Williams (leading specialists in antique ceramics) of Eastbourne.

Condition:
Spout chipped and incomplete; two cracks issuing away from the spout; handle with straw-coloured effects; numerous light surface scratches, some affecting enamels; unusually broad underside of footrim. Not repaired. Green-yellow translucency as attempted to illustrate. No paper on base.
