§ Andrew Grima, a gold, jadeite and diamond necklace, 1991, the hinged collar of planished gold suspending a jadeite pendant carved as a ladybird on a pair of pea pods, accented with brilliant-cut diamonds, from a gold ribbon set with brilliant-cut diamonds totalling approximately 2.80 carats, pendant length 10.2cm, inner circumference of collar approximately 38.5cm, collar and pendant signed GRIMA, stamped 750, combined gross weight approximately 134 grams, pouch stamped GRIMA

The early 20th century Chinese jadeite pendant, carved with a ladybird and peapods as auspicious symbols of longevity and wealth, was purchased by Grima in San Francisco. The pendant is illustrated in 'Andrew Grima, Royal Jeweller: A Career of Fifty Years 1946-1996', no. 56, and the design drawing in the 1991 Goldsmith's Hall 'Grima Retrospective' exhibition catalogue, p.62, no.124

Accompanied by report no. 28000 from the Gem & Pearl Laboratory, stating that the jadeite measuring approximately 73.0 x 34.6 x 8.5mm is natural, with no indications of treatment
