1989(6) & 1990(2) Chateau Leoville Barton, Saint - Julien, Bordeaux.
From the estate of the well regarded Lewes collector, Brian Cramp. Expert tasting note: (1989 vintage) "Deep, dark ruby-red in color, but
not opaque. A medium intensity nose of ripe chocolate & raisin notes
overlays cassis & black-cherry fruit. There are plenty of cedary
spices on both nose & palate. The mid-palate shows rounded,
dark-cherry & blackcurrant fruit that seems slightly brooding. The
acidity is quite fresh & there are tobacco-leaf & cedar notes. Alcohol
is beautifully balanced & the finish lasts well. This promises to open
quite spectacularly." - 11/93 DCAMW
