A Chinese famille rose ‘double peacock’ part dinner service, Qianlong period, each piece painted with a peacock and peahen amid rockwork and peonies, comprising a large tureen cover and stand, width 34cm, three canted rectangular dishes, a smaller tureen and covers and a pair of octagonal dishes, together with a similar smaller tureen painted with flowers and rock work, some damage

Condition:
Correction please note- one of the small tureens and covers is painted with flowers and rock work and does not include peacocks in the design. The large tureen and cover is in good condition with occasional wear to the gilding and enamels The small Peacock design tureen and cover has typical minor glaze imperfections otherwise in good condition. The second small tureen and cover in a different pattern has some edge chips to the base otherwise in good condition. One of the octagonal plates is badly broken and messily re-glued, the second plate has one larger and three smaller shallow splinter chips to two corners. The largest of the platters has two large firing cracks to each end which go all the way through as occasional small splinter chips on the edge, and some losses to the enamels. The three remaining dishes are structurally sound with some occasional minor wear to the enamel.
