A Chinese embroidered silk ‘dragon’ robe, late Qing dynasty, worked with eight five claw dragons amidst cloud formations against a dark blue ground, lishiu stripes to the hem and cuffs, lined in brown silk brocade worked in kesi with a four claw dragon, alterations,

Condition:
The robe has alterations to the collar and sleeve and has been made reversible with a silk kesi brocade dragon design lining to the reverse/interior which has been adapted from a panel. there are numerous unpacked threads and slight staining to the embroidered silk robe, the lishiu stripes have been removed from the bottom and added to the sleeves.
