A Chinese hongmu and mother of pearl inlaid ‘Bird’ embroidered silk table screen, late 19th century, the silk panel embroidered with peacocks amid rockwork and flowers and birds in a magnolia tree surrounded by butterflies, on an ivory ground (stained), the hongmu frame and stand inlaid in mother of pearl with the figures of immortals and foliage, on trestle ends with lion-dog supports, total height 76.5 cm, total width 54 cm

Condition:
The joint to on one of the corners of the frame has come apart and requires glueing, the back panel has some splits to it. The embroidered silk is stained and is faded but is on its original frame. The mother pearl inlay is occasionally missing from some small areas, otherwise in reasonable condition.
