A fine late 18th century sampler, dated December 18th, 1792, with indistinct name (possibly Sarah Slater?), the sampler embroidered in fine polychrome silks on linen, with rows of alphabet and numerals, packed with an array of motifs of flowers, animals, exotic birds, etc., with a small cartouche embroidered with her name and date another with a crown and the words God save the King, plus a small verse; If all mankind would live in love this world would much resemble that above, 29cm x 50cm.
