Catalogue note: Jeremy Taylor (1613-1667) was a cleric in the Church of England and under the patronage of William Laud, Archbishop of Canterbury, Taylor became chaplain to King Charles I. After the King’s execution Taylor was imprisoned several times however he lived to see the restoration of the Monarchy.
Taylor was married twice and a daughter, Mary from his second marriage married Bishop Francis Marsh.
