A tourmaline, emerald, seed pearl and diamond necklace, India, 20th century, composed of pink tourmaline beads on an adjustable cord necklace, to an openwork pendant of stylised floral design, set with faceted and cabochon emeralds, faceted tourmalines and polki diamonds in foiled settings, with an outer border of seed pearls, suspending a fringe of tourmaline, emerald and seed pearl pendants, necklace length adjustable, pendant length 8cm, reverse stamped SSJ 22C, seed pearls untested

Attractive and in good condition. Outer casing in gold but likely shellac-filled. Central emerald approximately 12 x 12mm, rich colour possibly enhanced by foiling, typical visible inclusions, some surface-reaching. Foiled stones possibly enhanced by foiling, attractive and in good condition. Gross weight is 82 grams.
