A collection of five Georgian/Victorian brooches, circa 1800-1900, comprising: an oval brooch centring on a glazed panel of hairwork within a border of split pearls, mounted in gold, the reverse inscribed 'Jas Ware Esq died 13th April 1815 Aged 59', length 2.6cm, later safety chain; another split pearl mourning brooches, with a foliate scroll border, length 2.4cm; a brooch set with an oval foiled amethyst within a border of split pearls, mounted in gold, length 2.1cm, one seed pearl deficient; a rectangular garnet and seed pearl mourning brooch centring on a panel of hairwork, length 2.8cm; and a circular locket containing a painted miniature of a woman on vellum, within a graduated border of split seed pearls; mounted in gold, length 3.5cm including bail, one pearl deficient, all pearls untested
