A pair of Japanese cloisonné enamel ‘phoenix’ vases, by Gonda Hirosuke I, Meiji period, each decorated in polychrome enamels and fine silver wire with phoenixes amid chrysanthemums amid scrolling foliage, on a black ground, bronze rims, stamped with the flaming tama logo to the base, 24.5cm high, enamel loss to one shoulder

Condition:
One of the vases has a enamel loss and dent to a chrysanthemum on the shoulder and some occasional small tiny pits to the enamel all over. There is evidence that both of the vases once had silver plating to the rims and base now worn off.
