Walter Taylor (1860-1943), A view of the Thames, with the old Lambeth bridge, Imperial Chemical House and the Palace of Westminster, circa 1930, signed lower right, oil on board, 19cm x 39.5cm A founding member of the London Group, Walter Taylor was born in Leeds, Yorkshire. He trained as an architect and later took up painting, mainly of buildings and landscapes. He worked extensively in Italy and France, sometimes with Walter Sickert.
