Five fob seals, 19th century, comprising: two gold fob seals of floral design, set with foiled amethysts engraved with a crest of a hand grasping a star and crescent moon and a spray of thistles with the motto 'Dinna Forget' respectively, largest 2.5cm; a rotating amethyst fob seal engraved with the initials KH, mounted in gold; and two gilt metal seals of foliate design, one set with white chalcedony depicting a scallop shell crest within a garter border with the motto 'Sic Itur In Altum', the crest of the Cowan family, the other set with carnelian inscribed 'James' in cursive script, to a gilt metal suspension hoop

Amethyst matrix with thistles chipped to one corner. Typical wear to stones and metal and discoloration to gilding. Suspension ring quite warped.
