An English cotton hexagon hand made and hand pieced quilt, made from a large variety of printed dress fabrics from 19th century. The quilt edged with a wide stripped multi fabric border. The under side designed in wide stripes using red cotton paisley and plain pale yellow cotton. Made between 1880-1900. This quilt is a good study of scrap fabrics and quilting being used.
207cm x 190cm. Condition - there are a few minor hexagonals that are slightly worn, with minor wear to one edge, to be expected for its age and particularly use.
