Overall a little dirty and dusty, a dent to the canvas near the lower right corner, flaking of the paint running down the right hand margin but also across the top margin, ridges of raised paint running vertically down through the centre of the figure particularly in the area of the face, modern giltwood frame, a patched hole in the region of his cane just below where he hand meets it, retouched to fairly good effect.
