Condition:
Age mid-19th century, not 20th century; head-dress plume missing; paintwork well-worn throughout; bitumen-effect in oil paints have accentuated the shrinkage and losses to paintwork; rear of his head-dress re-built; nose and mouth area similarly re-built; diagonal, vertical crack from above his right eye downward, reaching lower jaw; this is carved pine, the circular base with an old, natural split. Arms complete although what he once held is not known for certain; his left arm split at upper-arm/ lower-arm joint, fingers complete; his right arm detached from lower arm with later dowel attempting to join the two, fingers and thumb re-built to a good standard.
