A pair of large Chinese square baluster vases and covers, Daoguang period, c.1830, each finely painted with court figures amid pavilions and trees, modelled with a pair of seated figures of ladies to each handle, the domed cover with a seated monk, 54cm high, one of the figures to a handle is broken

Condition:
Typical minor glaze and manufacturing imperfections, minor wear to the gilding. The first vase has some flaking to the enamel on the top edge of the rim, one of the lady figures of the handles has a missing head and right arm and on the opposing side one of the figures is missing her right hand, otherwise in good condition. The second vase again has a small losses to the enamel on the top edge and to the top of the cover. The cover also has a small splinter chip to the under edge of one corner, otherwise in good condition.
