A gilt framed 19th century Spanish hand painted and decorated paper and sandalwood fan, from the Norte collection, the leaf painted with a central figurative cartouche and two others, surrounded with floral decoration and gilt outlines set on ornately carved sandalwood stems and guards within a shaped gilt famed case, fan 50cm wide. Condition - one guard has been broken and re glued. The fan leaf appears to be in good condition considering age and use.

Condition:
Two light cracks/splits to the right-hand guard, not serious, and no glue residue seen - perhaps not glue-repaired; sticks good; some wear at all folds of the leaf. Fan is secured to blue backing within frame so frame has not been opened.
