David Smith (British, 1930-1999), oil on canvas, 'Ice cave, Antarctica', signed and dated 1977, 76 x 102cm. Condition - fair to good, a few minor paint chips. Provenance; from the artists' studio. David Smith was born in Lowestoft and exhibited around the world. He wrote several books and travelled as an artist on the QEII, with the British Antarctic Survey and painted the lighthouses for Trinity House.
