A rare William IV silver castle top card case, die stamped with Newstead Abbey and to the reverse with a portrait of George Gordon Byron, Lord Byron and pierced with flowers and leafy scrolls, the sides similarly engraved, 9 x 6cm, by Taylor & Perry, Birmingham, 1835, 91mm.

Condition:
Unusual segment on cover and base, with different decoration and slightly lower than surrounding area?? Overall condition is otherwise good. The lid is a little loose in situ, but closes firmly. There are tiny gaps in places along both sides between the lid and base. No evidence of more than one layer.
