Withdrawn as considered to be a forgery
Charge of the Light Brigade interest: A Crimea medal with three bars for Sebastopol, Balaklava and Alma, awarded to T Brown, 17th Lancers, believed to be Private Thomas Brown, wounded at the Charge of the Light Brigade on 25th October 1854, when Lord Cardigan led some 670 cavalrymen into what became known as the ‘Valley of Death’ towards heavy Russian bombardment. Of the regiments involved, the 17th lancers suffered the highest casualties. Following this Brown was understood to have been captured by the Russians and died in captivity of his wounds. Condition - the medal is in Good VF condition, with attractive patina. There is some staining and wear to the ribbon and dents to the reverse of the bars.
