Two Chinese embroidered silk purses, 19th century, the first a drawstring purse (hebao), finely embroidered on gauze with antiques and auspicious objects on a cream silk background, the cord with rose quartz beads, 13.8cm wide, the second finely worked in Beijing knot with grasshoppers amid foliage, 10.2cm

Condition:
The drawstring purse has wear and small holes to the gauze ground in places and some slight brown discolouration around the edges the silk feels a little delicate in places. The second purse has some wear to the satin ground of the top of the flap and is missing a fastening button to the front, a little grubby on the back otherwise in reasonable condition.
