Sl. wear head and tail of spine and along joints; lacks plt.16 (at E5), its removal damaging that leaf at fore-edge, cutting close/shaving final letters and all of the red rule on recto, and cutting close on verso (where some red ruling remains); V8 has some fore-edge margin torn away (affects 11 lines) - losing red rule and cutting close / shaving the last/first letters; Bb8 has a wavy tear (though clean) down the leaf near fore-edge (partly on print and partly on blank or margin). Text rubricated as required, the red ruling (multi in places) extends even to the plt. versos; d-column (both works), clean text and plts. BPC. (432)pp.; Sternhold (2), 85, (86-88)pp. The plates sub title reads 'The Liturgy of the Church of England, adorned with 55 historical cuts' (sold by John Sturt...and John Nutt...) A most unusual Oxford University bkplt (dated 1745) is at front - see illus., and the book was later in the Blackstone and Williams families (Dorset and Wilts connections) with notes on 6 commencing blanks.
