Whitaker- light offsetting, blanks and endpapers replaced, gen. clean, spotting to pp.25-27, marginal soiling to pp.61-63, marginal loss to p.83, some browning and spotting to appendix leaves, light rubbing, minor scuffing; Poulson- occasional spotting and browning, gen. clean, firm hinges, bookplate of John Knowsley Thornton to front pastedowns, heavily rubbed extremities, upper joint splitting to vol. 2; Hunter- original boards, endpapers replaced, spine neatly repaired, original label laid-down; Drake- part 2 only, being ‘The History of the Cathedral Church of York’, spotting, some paper repairs, boards detached, morocco name-plate of ‘Judith Sillburn 1775’.
