A good Chinese archaistic white jade snuff bottle, 1780-1850, of flattened flask form, well hollowed and finely carved in relief with archaistic C-shaped scrolls, the neck with a keywork band, on a recessed oval foot, the white stone of good tone with occasional pale russet inclusions, 5.3cm high, gilt copper and malachite stopper
Provenance: The owner’s parents lived in Hong Kong before 1940 when they purchased this snuff bottle, thence by family descent.
