A fine and rare Jumeau pressed bisque two-faced doll, French, circa 1885, with crying and laughing faces, the laughing face with open / closed mouth showing one row of simulated teeth, fixed blue glass paperweight eyes, the crying face with open / closed mouth showing simulated tongue and one row of teeth, slanting fixed blue glass paperweight eyes with simulated tear in one corner, blonde mohair wig below a papier mache cowl and bent metal turning knob, the jointed wood and composition body with pull-string voice box causing the doll to cry, in original pink satin dress covered in lace applied with blue silk flowers, the lace and crocheted bonnet applied with blue ribbon, green kid shoes with blue rosettes, 18in.
