An early 20th century Royal Presentation midshipman's dirk, with blade inscribed 'Presented by HM King Edward VIII to Chief Cadet Captain Leo John Tillie 27th July 1936', the blade with Edward VIII cypher and signed by Gieves, hilt with shark-skin grip and silver coat of arms applied to the scabbard, scabbard 60cm long, without scabbard 59.5cm long

Condition:
Overall fair original condition, blade with some oxidisation spots, ormolu mounts all look rather matted with some rubbing to the gilding, but otherwise looks to be in good order. Lieutenant Leopold John Tilley later served in the Royal Navy in World War 2 and received the DSC with bar, 3 December 1940. He was on HMS Hotspur in 1940.
