The combination of peach, Buddha’s hand citron and pomegranate, symbolise longevity, good fortune, and the wish for many sons.
£2,000-3,000

Condition:
There are some losses to the zitan surrounds for the jade plaques. The neck of the sceptre has been glued re-glued to the head on the reverse with some old glue still around the area. The rear of the sceptre has a chip to the zitan at the back and some of the visible age cracks to the timber, probably a later brass suspension loop and silk tassel (although still probably antique). Jade plants are probably held in position with some wiring and the largest and smallest plaques are wobbly but do not fall out. The central plaque has been later glued in position. Otherwise in reasonable condition.
