A Japanese silver wire cloisonné enamel vase, by Ota Hiroaki, c.1950s, decorated in archaistic style with jade green coloured enamel flowerheads and scrolls on a black ground, silver rims marked ‘jungin’ (Pure silver), signed to a seal in silver ‘Ota Hiro-Aki’, 24.5cm high.

Ota Hiroaki (1913-1991) was one of the leading cloisonné artists of the Showa Period. The jungin mark was replaced in the 1950s.

Condition:
The enamel is in good condition, the silver wires are a little tarnished, some minor scratching and marks to the base consistent with age and use, in good condition with no restoration, chips or cracks detected.
