A large Chinese blue and white large ovoid jar, Kangxi period, painted to four reserves with birds and insects amid flowers and rockwork, between bands of brocade and floral ruyi head shaped borders, double circle mark to base,
cf. a very similar jar but with cover in the National Trust collection at Polesden Lacey, Surrey, UK.

Condition:
There is a long vertical crack extending from the unglazed rim virtually all the way down to the foot, with two horizontal cracks extending from the middle of this, other occasional small fine star cracks to the body, minor scuffing and scratching to the glaze, otherwise in reasonable condition.
