Condition:
Typical minor glaze imperfections. The dark brown glazed jug handle has been broken reglued, it looks as though it’s a fairly clean break with only some slight splintering to the glaze on the inside of the handle, otherwise all jugs in good condition. Provenance - purchased by Bob Lockyer from Marsden Woo, 227b Ebury Street, London, Philip Eglin exhibition 2020 for £2565 with copy of receipt. Bob Lockyer O.B.E. (1942-2022), the BBC television dance producer, was a pioneering and pivotal figure in the surge of dance on to television screens that, from the 1970s, established new dance at the forefront of contemporary British culture – a phenomenon that led to the ubiquity of the form today. He was a great sponsor of contemporary artists and ceramicists over the last 30 years, buying from galleries, specialist auctions and directly from the artist.
