A late 18th century Louis XVI gold, shagreen, enamel and rose cut diamond set pair cased key wind pocket watch by Jean André Couppey, Paris, probably quarter repeating, with Roman dial and diamond set bezel, hands, pendant bale and buttons, verso with diamond set monogram on a blue enamelled ground, the signed movement numbered 113, case diameter 44mm, gross weight 90.1 grams.

Condition:
Outer case missing ten studs from the perimeter. Piece of red sash from the interior of the lid now loose, but present. Piece of red sash missing from the other side of the interior of the outer case. Tiny chip the edge of the dial between 12& 1. Some very minor abrasions to the dial cover. Inner case in good order apart from some tarnishing to the gold. Two rose cut diamonds missing from the bezel. The watch is not currently running and the repeater mechanism is not functioning.
