An early 20th century French platinum, sapphire and diamond bar brooch, the central round cut sapphire of good colour, with diamond border, flanked by diamonds and shaped cut sapphires, the sapphire with an approximate diameter of 11.8mm and a depth of 5.9mm, the mount engraved with the number 15717?, 51mm, gross 7.6 grams.

Some minor nibbles to the table edge of the main stone, otherwise in good order. Sapphire approximately estimated as in excess of 5.50ct. The colour is good. We cannot comment as to whether or not the sapphire has been subject to any heat treatment.
